  • M. Soccer. Sept. 5 Men's Soccer Recap
    Kentucky landed the first tournament title of the 2010 season for a C-USA squad as the Wildcats topped IUPUI by a 1-0 decision to claim the UKIT title. UAB took a 3-1 victory over Virginia Tech at the Virginia Classic as senior Anthony King scored twice for the Blazers.

  • W. Soccer. Sept. 5 Women's Soccer Recap
    Conference USA women's soccer teams combined for 15 wins over the weekend. Tulsa moved into the top of the C-USA standings as the first team to reach five wins on the young season. No. 15 Memphis and SMU posted big shutouts, while Marshall blanked visiting Appalachian State to win the Best Western Huntington Mall Invitational. Rice handed San Francisco its first loss of the season, as the Owls came from behind to earn a 2-1 victory in overtime. UCF won its third-straight match with a 4-1 decision over VCU, while UTEP was also dominant in a 5-1 victory against Houston Baptist.

    The Ruffin McNeill era at East Carolina began with a thrilling 51-49 victory over Tulsa. In a wild game that featured 11 lead changes, the Pirates won the game on the final play, a 33-yard hail mary pass from Dominique Davis to Justin Jones. SMU battled back from a 21-point deficit, but fell at Texas Tech, 35-27.

    Tulsa and SMU each garnered wins on Saturday at the SMU Invitational-PREGO to move C-USA to a 9-2-1 overall record on the season. Tulsa junior Austin Neil recorded the season's first hat trick to lead the Golden Hurricane to a 3-1 win over Tulsa. SMU followed with another 3-1 win over Lipscomb to move the Mustangs to 2-0 start.

    Conference USA had a strong weekend of volleyball action as two teams captured tournament titles and two teams finished second.

  • Football. Saturday Football Roundup
    Jonathan Davis ran for 107 yards and a touchdown, while A.J. Guyton had a career-high 127 receiving yards and a TD to lead UCF to a 38-7 victory in Orlando. Rice gave No. 4 Texas a battle at Reliant stadium, eventually falling 34-17.

    Conference USA added four more wins to the men's soccer season Friday night as South Carolina, Marshall, Kentucky and FIU each emerged victorious in season openers. In the Fox Sports Channel NSCAA College Game of the Week, South Carolina took a 2-0 win over Clemson, the fourth-straight victory over the rival for the Gamecocks. Marshall earned its first win of the season, defeating Oakland by a 1-0 margin. Kentucky started its season with a 1-0 win over Eastern Illinois, while FIU topped Illinois-Chicago, 1-0, in a double-overtime match.

    Conference USA teams kicked off the holiday weekend with an 8-3-1 record. Seven teams posted wins tonight, while Colorado College shutout Wyoming, 3-0, on Thursday night. UAB extended its win streak to three games against Western Carolina. East Carolina, UCF and UTEP all picked up key road wins. Marshall earned its first victory of the season, defeating Radford, 1-0, in the first round of the Best Western Huntington Mall Invitational. SMU and Tulsa also won home matches against Saint Louis and Murray State, respectively.

    Marshall coach Mitch Jacobs captured his 350th career win in a thrilling 3-2 (25-11, 22-25, 25-19, 23-25, 15-8) victory over Hofstra as part of the Thundering Invitational Friday. The milestone victory for Jacobs comes in his 18th season as a collegiate head coach. Jacobs has compiled a 168-93 tally at Marshall, the most wins in program history, and owns a 350-204 overall record.

    True freshman RB Orleans Darkwa rushed for 75 yards and three touchdowns to lead Tulane to a 27-21 opening night victory over Southeastern Louisiana at the Superdome. New UAB quarterback David Isabelle set a school record for rushing yards by a QB with 214, along with four total TDs (three rushing). But, the Blazers fell to Florida Atlantic, 32-21 when a potential game-winning field goal was blocked.

  • C-USA is Looking for More of its "Tweetest Fans"
    As the 2010 football season kicks off tonight, Conference USA announces that it will start up its "Tweetest Fan" contest again for the fall season. C-USA will seek out more of its Tweetest Fans, using various social media to hear and spread all the exciting news coming from the Conference and its members.

    Conference USA teams went undefeated to open the 2010 men's soccer campaign, with two teams posting shutouts and another taking a double-overtime victory. UCF took the first win of the 2010 campaign as the Knights claimed a 5-0 decision over Jacksonville, with Memphis following by defeating Belmont, 4-0, at home. SMU finished opening night in exciting fashion by coming from a 2-0 deficit to defeat Missouri State in double overtime, 3-2.

  • Cross Country. C-USA Cross Country Season Opens Friday
    Conference USA 2010 Cross Country season gets underway on Friday, Sept. 3, with nine men's and women's teams competing. Eight additional clubs will see action on Saturday at various Invitationals. Houston and Tulsa will serve as hosts to their annual home meets this opening weekend. The Cougars and Rice will compete in the Johnny Morriss Invitational, whereas Tulsa will host the Hurricane Invitational at Mohawk Park.

  • W. Soccer. Aug. 31 Women's Soccer Notebook
    Memphis moved up eight spots to No. 15 in the most recent NSCAA/HendrickCars.com national rankings, following a 1-0 shutout of a tough LSU team Saturday night. The Tigers are also one of four C-USA teams ranked in the NSCAA Central Region's Top 10, along with UCF (5), UAB (8) and Colorado College (9). SMU is also receiving regional votes.

  • Football. C-USA Football Game Previews - Week One
    Six nationally-televised games highlight the opening weekend of the 2010 Conference USA Football season. All 12 teams will be in action spread over four days, with one league contest scheduled and two games against top five opponents on the docket.
