ORLANDO, Fla. (OrlandoSportsFoundation.com) – The Orlando Sports Foundation received a $24,000 donation from FFVA Mutual following the proceeds of its second annual golf tournament. The FFVA Mutual Invitational was held on Nov. 4 at the Legacy Club at Alaqua Lakes Country Club in Longwood, Fla.
“FFVA Mutual is a proud supporter of the Cure Bowl and the Orlando Sports Foundation’s mission to find a cure for cancer,” FFVA Mutual CFO Alan Hair said. “This year’s second annual FFVA Mutual Invitational golf tournament raised $24,000 to promote awareness of this disease and advance research toward a cure. It is important to FFVA Mutual and our team to ‘give back’ and to positively impact this wonderful community that we live and work in!”
FFVA Mutual is a Florida-based regional insurance carrier specializing in worker’s compensation. FFVA Mutual will present a check to Orlando Sports Foundation for a yet-to-be disclosed amount at the Cure Bowl, the primary event organized by the Orlando Sports Foundation.

The Orlando Sports Foundation is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to raising funds for cancer research through its mission of bringing teams together to find a cure for cancer. Its primary event, the Cure Bowl, has raised over $3.6 million for the Breast Cancer Research Foundation, which includes over $1.2 million that has been dispersed to local BCRF research Dr. Annette Khaled at the UCF College of Medicine.
The Cure Bowl featuring teams from the American Athletic Conference and Sun Belt Conference is set to be the first American Football game played at Exploria Stadium on Dec. 21 at 2:30 p.m. The contest will broadcast nationally on CBS Sports Network.
